CNati
While there are more and more places to get opinions, there are fewer and fewer places to find facts. The news media is shrinking due to costs and one of the places where it is shrinking the fastest is in sports coverage.
Several Ohio newspapers are pulling off of the pro beats -- the Cincinnati Post closed, the Columbus Dispatch is no longer covering the Reds and Bengals and the Dayton Daily News has already stopped covering the Bengals and has told Hall of Famer Hal McCoy he will no longer cover the Reds on a daily basis. At one point Clear Channel had a reporter actually at the practices and games, but he was laid off as well.
CNati.com is using journalists to continue the tradition of sports journalism. CNati.com doesn't just regurgitate opinions, we practice journalism, live from the source with web updates, video, Twitter and Facebook integration. Cnati.com already has two veteran sports journalists -- C. Trent Rosecrans (formerly of the Cincinnati Post and Clear Channel, who was named Cincinnati's Best Journalist by CityBeat readers) and Scott Priestle (formerly of the Columbus Dispatch) -- who have been victims of the downsizing, but hope to continue to do what they love and still provide the daily sports coverage to the fans of Cincinnati sports, using the traditional journalistic ethics and values in the new world of online journalism.
